I can understand an appreciation for "fine art" photography with training in camera settings and filters, an eye for capturing a moment in time in an interesting venue with the perfect light. However, it's not my cup of tea.
For me there is much more creative joy in enhancing a photo with digital manipulation, taking it beyond it's original being, exploring new possibilities. It's exciting to see colors and shapes change and emerge with painterly results. Magic appears before one's very eyes. I often like to wonder where the photograph ends and the "painting" begins.
Today, I discovered a gal in Indiana who also enjoys artistic photo manipulation. See the gorgeous creations she sells online at Etsy. I think her "Coneflower1" is spectacular.
What joy!
